Tender meatballs infused with the rich flavor of cherry wood smoke are a standout dish for any occasion. These bite-sized meaty appetizers are filled with savory spices and can be served and/or basted with a tangy cherry barbecue sauce. Perfect for parties or as a comforting main dish, they are sure to impress.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb ground pork
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup cherry wood chips or chunks (for smoking)
- Cherry BBQ Sauce for basting
Directions
- Preheat your smoker to 250°F (121°C) and add cherry wood chips or chunks.
- Mix all ingredients in a large bowl and form into 1-inch meatballs.
- Place the meatballs on a wire rack, smoker tray, or cast iron skillet.
- Smoke for 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Baste meatballs in cherry BBQ sauce and let sit for 5 minutes.
- Serve with additional cherry BBQ sauce.
