Homemade beef jerky is a savory, protein-packed snack that’s easy to make and customize with your favorite flavors. Perfect for road trips, hikes, or just snacking at home, it’s a delicious treat that satisfies cravings. Experiment with different marinades for a variety of tastes!

Ingredients

4-5 lbs lean eye of round roast, sliced thinly
2 cups of Dr. Pepper or DOC Cherry Soda
1 tbsp pickled jalapeños
2 tbsp kosher salt
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 tsp curing salt

Directions

Mix all the seasoning and liquids together in a large gallon-size Ziploc bag.
Slice the eye of round roast into very thin slices. Pro tip, ask the butcher to slice for beef jerky. Marinate beef in the mixture overnight.
Preheat the oven or grill to 170°F (76°C). Arrange beef slices on a wire rack and bake for 4-6 hours until dry and firm.
Store in an airtight container.
