This fun burger features a juicy beef patty topped with crispy bacon, cheese, onion rings, and barbecue sauce, all served on a toasted bagel. It’s a fun twist on the classic burger that’s sure to impress. Perfect for brunch or a hearty lunch!
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
4 bagels, sliced
4 slices cheddar cheese
1 white onion sliced
½ cup flour
½ cup cornstarch
2 large eggs
½ cup milk
1 cup panko bread crumbs
Vegetable Oil
4 fried onion rings
8 strips bacon, cooked
1/2 cup BBQ sauce
1 tbsp Sweet Red Dirt
Onion Ring Instructions
Whisk milk and egg in a bowl
Whisk flour, cornstarch, and Sweet Red Dirt
Dredge onions in flour mixture, then in milk mixture then panko (third bowl)
Cook 3-4 onions for 2-3 minutes in vegetable oil until lightly golden brown
Directions
Form ground beef into 4 patties. Season with salt and pepper.
Dip bacon in ground pepper and wrap each thick patty with the bacon.
Grill the burgers with the indirect cooking method. It should take 25 minutes.
Slice white onions into medium circles, dredge and then fry until golden brown.
Top each patty with cheese for the last 10 minutes. Toast bagels.
Once the burger reaches 145°F internal temperature, baste in BBQ sauce. Cook until 165°F internal temperature.
