These fall-off-the-bone ribs are coated in a sweet and tangy glaze that makes them utterly addictive. Cooked low and slow, they are perfect for outdoor barbecues or cozy dinners. Pair them with your favorite sides for a mouthwatering meal!
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup hoisin sauce
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup sake (Japanese rice wine)
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 tbsp ginger, minced
- 6 large scallions, sliced on diagonal, whites and greens divided
- Sesame seeds
- 1/2 cup hoisin sauce
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup sake (Japanese rice wine)
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 tbsp ginger, minced
- 10 oz red pepper jelly or apple jelly
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
Sauce
Directions
- Preheat the oven or smoker to 275°F (135°C).
- Season the ribs with Sweet Red Dirt rub and smoke for 2 hours.
- Mix hoisin sauce, soy sauce, sake, orange juice, pepper jelly, apple cider vinegar and garlic powder in a bowl.
- Baste the ribs with the sauce mixture and wrap tightly in foil.
- Smoke for 2 more hours to allow the sauce to come together. Top with sesame seeds and scallions and jalapeños for extra flavor.
